The Sameric/Boyd Theater
The last movie palace in Philadelphia- albiet a subdivided one. Built in the 1920's as the Boyd - it was one of hundreds of theaters. It is high on the endangered list. The latest nail in the theaters coffin was a 7-2 ruling by the Philadelphia Historic Commission-that it is not worthy of local historic status.
